Autodesk Revit 2024 is already installed while installing... ?????

Hi all,

I'm installing Revit 2024 but this notification visible ??
How can i solve this issue ?

This is a general installation error. Have you looked at the link below,

if you have done the necessary and the problem persists, my best suggestion would be to remove all the products cleanly and reinstall them to clear the garbage of Autodesk products. In this process, it is more convenient to install the versions sequentially.

that doesn't show the 2024 registry keys to be removed. it only lists how to remove the ones up to 2023.

which registry keys have to be removed for 2024? (and keep 2023 and other older versions on the PC)

Are you confident enough to use the FIND feature in the registry? Always backup your registry before you do anything so recover is a breeze instead of a pain.

I installed and required restart to complete install. But after restart, i don't find anything about Revit 2024 on desktop or in startup.
I access path: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2024 but don't find Revit.exe to start ??

I open uninstall tool but can't find Revit 2024.
Please help !

@mr.engineer.aec Uninstall Tool isn't available. Do you see Revit 2024 in the control panel/program and features?

As mentioned, the Uninstall Tool was retired several releases ago and now uninstalls are managed via the traditional Windows Add/Remove Programs dialog. I would recommend using the Microsoft Uninstall Troubleshooter, https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d, to fully uninstall/remove Revit 2024 from this system and then attempt the installation again.

I had struggled properly de-installing Revit 2023 and 2024. My solution may not work for most people though since my problem was different. But if you are in the same situation, it may help.

My situation and problem was that our IT uses a software called Applocker. This will prevent some (in their eyes unapproved) executables to run. what that causes is that the de-installation (and the installation as well) doesn't work properly since only some of the routines work. the problem is, an isntallation may look like it worked and not throw an error just because a few routines didn't work. So you may have a problem later on.

Once a person with the privileges (aka not having to use Applocker) sat at my computer and was logged in, the de-installation and re-installation just went smoothly. No registry editing etc. needed.

So if you have problems, check in Event viewer if your IT plays some tricks on you:

Obviously if this isn't your problem, you have to try other solutions. But if your organization has Applocker, you basically will have to have a privileged person do de-install and installations (inc. updates etc.). i basically have to have the Eventviewer open all the time and if a software causes a problem, try to track down if it was Applocker and then have IT approve the specific routine it blocked.

I have been trying to uninstall Revit 2024. The the first installation wasn’t complete. And when I try to download it. It says it already exists, but it’s not there In programs

See how to do a clean uninstall even without. Just make sure to check the
registry since it will see the keys.

This needs to be added to the "How to perform a Clean Uninstall of Autodesk products on Windows" document. This would have saved me 6 hrs of work.
