For standard subscriptions there is two factor authentification. On another post post in this forum regarding intermittent internet access concerns, it was stated that logins to Autodesk would only be required every 30 days.

I am trying to assess annoyance to my employees. Will they have to use two factor authentification to log in daily to use Revit, or will they only have to do the annoying text message verification code once a month?

The 2 step process is when then they launch the product. Do your users actually need the 2 step process? <-- Meaning this is optional at this time. Not sure going forward it will be for all.

The 30 day is related to an off-line counter.

When the product is launched it always checks for a background internet connection.

If there is none, it starts a 30 day off-line counter. If the counter reaches 0 days, the product won't work until you connect to the internet. However if at any point in that 30 day off-line counter mood, it finds an internet connection, the counter is rest back to 30 days.

So if their computers are connected to the internet, every time that they open Revit they would have to use two factor authentification? Or do you mean that it is only required when the program is installed?

Sorry, too many things going on and my posting needs clarification. The 2 steps as I know is only for accessing your Autodesk Account or activating the product for the first time. Additional launches of the product doesn't require it

However I don't have that feature enabled and perhaps something has changed since it was implemented. But while supporting those who have that enabled, I don't remember seeing the prompt for the code when the user was launching the product after its been activated.

Update: Some additional clarification. The 2 step verification when enabled is only needed anytime you see the Autodesk Account log in screen. Once you activate the product it no longer prompts for the user to sign in since its maintained in a file. But if the license is reset or that login state file is removed it may prompt the user to sign in again on the launch of the product.

Hi @bridgettrene - what @Mark.Lancaster stated is 100% correct. When the user launches the product for the very first time, they will need to authenticate. After that they will not need to authenticate again upon launching the product as long as they don't deliberately sign out prior to closing.
