Re: Transition to Named User FAQ (Read Before You Post)

@Anonymous

Yes you could consider this "a multi user subscription with single serial number " as a multi-user but it just meant you purchase "X" quantity of license under a single user subscription tied to a single serial #. Nothing has changed, its still the same with the named accounts. Where I purchased "X" quantity of license under a single user subscription tied to named accounts or sign in. Many single user subscription existing customer have been switched from serial # to single user.

"we have still option to renew multi user with network license available to renew" per the following

As of March 7 2020, Autodesk is eliminating the network license type… Meaning after this date you will not be able to order or purchase any new network license type.

For renewals it’s a little different.

If your current renewal of a given contract has a renewal date prior to May 7 2020, you will need to renew it and it can only be renewed for 1 year. The following March or April (2021) when it comes renewal time again, this will be considered your first renewal option. At this point, up to 90 days prior to that renewal date (in 2021) you can trade in and get the 2:1 single user license deal. However, the transition to single user doesn’t happen until the actual renewal date (in 2021) of your current contract. But you can also elect not to trade in and renew you current network license again for another year. When you do this, you lose the 2:1 deal and the following March or April (2022), you will be forced over to single user subscription at a rate of 1:1.

If your current renewal of a given contract has a renewal date after May 7th 2020 and prior to May 7 2021, this will be considered your first renewal option. At this point, up to 90 days prior to that renewal date you can trade in and get the 2:1 single user license deal. However, the transition to single user doesn’t happen until the actual renewal date of your current contract. But you can elect not to trade in at this point and renew you current network again for another year. When you do this, you lose the 2:1 deal and at the following renewal (sometime in 2021), you will be forced over to single user subscription at a rate of 1:1.

If your current renewal of a given contract has a renewal date after May 7th 2021, this will be considered your first renewal option. At this point, your only option is to trade in for the 2:1 deal. Again up to 90 days prior to that renewal date you can trade in and get the 2:1 single user license deal. However, the transition to single user doesn’t happen until the actual renewal date of your current contract.

Additional info. When you switch from network to single user:

Switch or trade in can happen up to 90 days prior to your contract renewal date after the May 7 2020 time frame

If your different network based products renewal at different dates, you will be in transition mode until all of them are switched over.

You will have 30 days to create users, assign their benefits and reset the license on their machine. Meaning you have a 30 day grace period built into your license file to get your users switched over.
