Hi @devin_m, thanks for your question!

For named-user subscription, you must activate online to start with and connect to the internet at least once every 30 days. If you can't connect to internet at all, you can continue to use your multi-user subscription or network maintenance plan by limited exception, until we provide an alternative offline solution. More information will be available on the exception process and who qualifies.

Hope this helps.

Any updates?

I know of certain organizations that have literally hundreds of seats of AutoCAD that have no internet access. While I would expect they would qualify for the "limited exception" to run without reconnecting to the Internet every 30 days, I am also concerned about the need for each workstation to connect to the internet initially to get Named User authentication working.

Nothing will change anytime soon; you will need to invest in network licensing for the scenario you started. Contact a reseller in your region to discuss options available https://www.autodesk.com/partners/locate-a-reseller

HTH

You call more than one reseller to validate their offerings/information, or you rely on what is on the Autodesk websites/forums the day you look at it and hope it is the best for you.

No one at Autodesk is going to hold your hand and walk you through it in person.

Dear all, as the network licenses are discontinued and only named user liences could be bought we run into a big problem after upgrading to AutoCad 2019 and newer products. As the workplaces have absolutely restricted access to the internet there is no way to activate the license (unless the proxy module will use NTLM V2 or Kerberos). I'd opened calls at the support portal but they were ignored. It looks like that AutoDesk wants us to evaulate other CAD software vendors, right?

Regards from Germany,

Dieter Koch

As dutch government we do not allow users to logon with their email into any accounts on internet. Business privacy first. Our company pays fot the licenses. We just want to use your software no services at all. Autodesk has no need too know anything about our users or our data. We use our own environment to allow users to use the software. We use our own vaults (non-Autodesk). Users are not allowed to save any company data in other environments. Data ans application use logging is our governmental policy, not Autodesks. So we cannot and will not change to named use. It is absolutely no option. Because of the answers above we have to look for other options too. CAD updates / changes take about a year. We have to act soon, unless Autodesk keeps the concurrent use network licenses.
