Hello,

I am modeling a church that have shells in two directions, as you can see in pictures.

I don't know how to model this type of structure. Do you have some ideas how to model this?

Thank you in advance,

Iva

I think I found a way to do this kind of dome, but i need to cut it in contact with walls.

Thank you in advance

hi @Iva3

This topic is a bit old and probably other solutions have been found since.

Using the given Excel file, Sphere, it is possible to obtain spherical shapes from simple meshed panels by a translation of the nodes by the API. This gives great freedom of shape and also allows openings.

You will find two methods to perform the shape,

the first (Explode checked) projecting the nodes on the sphere,

the other (unchecked) moving them up in the direction of the beginning end of the line (axis).

The start point of the line is the center of the sphere and the end is the top. The radius being the difference of the two points.

Best Regards

<video-js data-video-id="6376048081112" data-account="6057940548001" data-player="default" data-embed="default" class="vjs-fluid" controls="" data-application-id="" style="width: 100%; height: 100%;"></video-js>
(view in My Videos)

You will also find Split here the means of cutting the arcs of a panel into several arcs of the same radius.

This most often fixes the straight segmentation of arcs that sometimes occurs at mesh time.

19/05/24: Note that you can also split your panels into as many panels as FEs here.
