Hi Andrew,

Have you tried to define footfall analysis selecting SCI P354 code?

Help topics describing footfall analysis can be very useful.

Hi,

I must admit I am very much a novice when it comes to dynamic response analysis.

Are you able to provide me with a walktrhough for obtaining response factors for a continuous slab supported on a series of simply supported beams. SCI P354 would be the relevant code.

Your help is much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Andrew

I have had a look at the help topics but am still a little in the dark. I cam obtain dynamic response factors for a slab but not for steel beams. does this require modal analysis ? how would I go about obtaining response factors for the steel beams?

Many Thanks

If you model a slab together with the beams and FE mesh of the slab is coherent with these beams then they are connected.

In such case response factors for any node along the beams correspond to both the slab and the appropriate point of the beam.
