Selecting items

Hi,

I have a question, why when selecting an item in RSA and then clicking on "Edit in new windows", now visually this item only appears in the new windows, but in reality if i select anywhere in the screen where a hidden object is located it is being selected as well.

is there a way to only select what has only been selected and shown in a seperate windows and that all the select/invert select operations apply only to the visible items in the windows and not all the rest of the structure which is not visible in the current new window?

The alternative solution:

1. Select part of a structure and open it in the new window

2. Select part of the previous selection opened in the new window

3. Save it as a selection group

4. Select the whole part opened in the new window

5. Open the selection dialog and remove the previously selected group from the selection

Thanks Artur, but it would make sense if you change you programing in RSA to just allow all selecting operations to take place with items only shown in the new windows and not to all invisible items.

Yes.

Your procedure is applicable for Manual selection.

View 1: Whole structure

View 2: Truss 1

I want to selct one specific member using colour filter in view 2 only. But it is selcting the same members in View 1 also.
