    <description>&lt;P&gt;I do not see a difference between designing, ie, a precast rc beam &amp;nbsp;and in-situ rc beam. The only difference I know is that, precast is done in an assembly line while in-situ is on-site but the principles in designing them are pretty the same. That's why I'm really interested if ever I tick "precast" in the dialog box, what is the difference will it make in the design process?&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;1) can RSAP 2015 or 2016 design rc element as precast instead of cast in situ? if can, how?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>As I know then it cant. Precast usually means of usage prestressed concrete and trusses in it. Robot cant deal with it.</description>

&lt;P&gt;I need to make a comparison with Tekla structure. I don't have enough experience with robot and zero knowledge with tekla. Any advice for the comparison?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>What do you mean by design elements? You compare different things. Robot is used for calculations, whereas Autodesk advance concrete and Tekla are mostly for modelling/drawing software, they do not perform any strength calculations.</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;what I mean is can ROBOT design RC element such as beam, column or slab as pre-cast instead of cast in-situ.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;I run through ROBOT and found on code parameter for rc beam, there is a tick box for precast selection.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;you can see in the attached picture. these code parameter also same for column design.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;But, when I try to calculate some continous beam, the rebar still act as a continous beam instead of precast beam.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;The only difference is in precast mode, there is extra rebar for lifting.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Anyone can help?&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;As I explained in addition there is a check for the situation where the supports are at locations of hooks and bending is caused by self-weight. In such case you need (e.g. for a simply supported beam) top reinforcement for such&amp;nbsp;created&amp;nbsp;cantilevers at beam's ends. Also provisions for minimal reinforcement bars which are allowed (usually smaller than for standard beams).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
