currenty I have a concrete slab. I want to define a none like slab on top of the concrete slab so I can place the loads on. is this possible.

the problem with the typical patch area load is that i will have to redraw it for each type of load I have. this is a huge effort since i have alot of patches with different loading.

As shown below I have a concrete slab with alot of different loading patterns assigned. however for each colored zone there is multiple types of loads like LL , SDL ect.. As such I would like to define another none shell element where I can draw and apply the load on.

so the defintion would be:

1-Draw the full slab as a concrete.

2- draw different none patch or slabs.

3- assigning different load types to these patches.

I have tried this option before. however it will create very fine mesh and irregular mesh. I am running vibration analysis for this as such it will take hours to finalize the vibration analysis.

This is a sample of my project.

I have used one slab with patch loading. the mesh is ok, but the problem drawing the patches it takes alot of time. and once there is any architectural change it is would required removing and redrawing it again for different loads, which is effectively time consuming, rather than just editing a patch area.

Sorry for the late reply i was trying to do different testing to for the issue. I am trying to define a drop panel that is 650 in thickness. however i am getting an warning of overlapping panels.

In addition I have added a property modifier. how would robot understand the property of the panel at the point. what loading it will take and what thicknes it will use. will it use the small 650 drop panel, and will it add up the loads if i used area loads

I will be using the patch loading since I will have to decrease my mesh to a very small size, which will increase the analysis time especially for vibration.

second i would like to understand further the dyamic mass that will be used in the vibration analysis .

i am using a full dead load, 0.8 SDL and 0.1 LL for normal hospital rooms.

however, for the zones where there is equipments I am using 0.8 of its weight.

I have attached the model for reference.

I am having this warning. it is because maybe the load is slightly defined away from the load. is this acceptable.
