Hello,

I've read a lot of posts about panels and meshing on this forum and corrected some mistakes in my structure, so in the beggining I would like to thank all of You for support.

But still after all posts and videos i can't obtain any fine meshing for my structre
My structure consist of discretized stright panels but I dont know how to mesh it to obtain coherent mesh and unity of nodes of mesh between the panels.
As result i can't obtain for example symmetrical maps for selfweight load of structure.

Please tell me where to look for or how to solve this problem.

Files attached

Thanks in advance,

Tomasz Szumski

Don´t use Solid modeler (job preferences/Work parameters) . On job prefrences/meshing ,don´t use kinematic constraints, and mark "iterative adjustment of the FE mesh" only.

Check the Meshing best practices webinars 1 and 2) if you haven´t done so yet.

Build your Robot Structural Analysis IQ - YouTube

Try this method of model generation

I made it in a hurry and got this mesh.

Hello Rafal,

Following Your post i've obtained a perfect mesh on my structure.

And also got resultant maps of stresses symmetrical as they shoud be.

But it led me to another problem.
While using Wind load simulation I don't get any wind load pressures on panels, they are created only for beams and columns.

Is it possible my file is corrupted? I've tried older copies of file but it still gave me same results

Do You know where might be the problem?

Best Regards,

Tomasz Szumski

For Wind Simulation you have to do it in different way (because of model size and WS limitations):

1. Either Rafael's approach

or

2. using the tool: http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/robot-structural-analysis/get-local-axis-of-finite-elements-via-api/m-p/5955653#M40283

generate panels = 1FE each on already meshed tower

(more precise results)

Example:
