Hi

I'm struggling with the results shown on the panel maps.

When I'm trying to see an envelope with characteristic values for a map, I would like to see just one number for each characteristic point.

However, every now and then values are shown as 813/2008 instead. I assume this is the bottom and top envelope, but as I have already picked the top envelope from the "Select Component" option, I'm not interested in the bottom envelope.

I can sometimes get rid of these "/" values by updating a few times, but very often, the map graphics seem to be stuck and I can't even change between fx. extreme points and characteristic points.

It seems completely random when this happen and I can't for the life of me figure out how to make it stop.

I have attached a picture with said problem.

Kind regards

Martin

My assumption is that the two values are max and min values for either top or bottom envelopes (not max and min from top and bottom ones). This is the way Robot displays values on maps when you select finite element centers however the single values are shown for characteristic points.

If you attach the model I'll have a look at the issue with switching between them you described.

I agree, however, Robot is not supposed to show these values.

I attached another picture with the "Extreme points" but It is very clear that Robot does not display the extreme points, but a whole mess of points.

Also it doesn't update if I change to eg. "extreme points on panels".

I also attached an excerpt of the file for you to try, as the whole file is quite large.

Kind Regards

Martin

Unfortunately turning off acceleration doesn't do the trick.

And the problem is very periodic, and not limited to my computer but the entire departments.

I suspect the issue mainly occurs when the models are quite big.

As it is right now, when the issue occurs, we restart Robot. Usually a few times solves the problem, but every now and then we can restart the program again and again without any effect.

If this happens try to press the indicated icon and set the display of maps again.

You may also try to switch this option off (it requires restarting Robot to be applied) and see if this makes any difference.

Unfortunately this doesn't work either, but turning the setting off does seem to make my selected nodes so small they are next to invisible (see the attached).

Can the issue have something to do with I'm using the "Reduction of forces above columns and walls" feature? It does seem to happen more often when this is activated.

Well, the settings are related to the view, so i guess there is that.

I'm not really sure what to do here, it is a major nuisance when working with the program, and not limited to my computer or this particular model. It is a periodic problem and I can't see any specific actions which bring up the issue.

The entire model is +200MB without results, which is difficult to pass over a forum, any chance to take a look over remote desktop or similar?

@Artur.Kosakowski Apologies, I'm aware this is an old post but I'm having the same issue on Robot 2023 and the post wasn't marked as solved.

From looking at your video, it appears you have the same issue they were describing, which is that when you plot the results at finite element centres and select to show the top envelope, you still get this range of values at certain points, like what they indicated as 'wrong' in the image in their initial post. Selecting 'extreme' or 'characterisitc points' only presents one value, as desired, but selecting 'finite element centres' does not. Is there a solution to this, please, where only value is displayed at a given mesh node, rather than the range often displayed (e.g 103/540)?

Appreciate any help.

As far as I recall I ended up getting a new computer with a better GPU and more memory which I think solved the problem.

But again, it's many years ago, and I might just have moved on to other projects without ever solving the problem.

Nevertheless, working with this large files in Robot is not recommendable, I'd prefer to use some other software instead.
