I'm sorry, but my problem is not with the calculation of the reduced forces. I just can't understand how the program defines the horizontal or vertical concept in an horizontal panel (this is important when analysing various panels through the information given in the tabel "reduced results").

For example,in the image below, why is A1 an vertical cut and A2 an horizontal cut and not the other way around?

Thanks in advance

I was trying to get the reduced results for various panels and combinatios and I noticed that the cuts available are defined as horizontal and vertical.

When evaluating an vertical panel, I can understand in which direction the cut will be made, but what about an horizontal panel? What does RSA assume to be the vertical and horizontal direction of the cuts?

Thanks in advance

I'm sorry, but I still can't get the reason to define a vertical and a horizontal cut in an horizontal panel.

Your link is indeed explainig about the definition of the cuts, but does not explain what is done when the panel is not vertical. Is the vertical cut in the XZ plane and the horizontal cut in the YZ plane or vice-versa? And are they defined in relation to the local or global axis?

I'm sorry but it doesn't.

The problem is not about the cut itself, it's about the definition in the table of results.

If I wanted that cut to be displayed, which cut should I choose? The vertical or the horizontal? This is easily understood if we are leading with a vertical plane, but not clear when the panel is horizontal.

In your case both middle (vertical and horizontal). You can identify them by their node numbers:

Hi,

I'm working with reduced results for panels, and I've read your post on explaining the directions for the cuts.

Please see the pictures attached. The locations for the cuts is constant, but the results aren't. I've tried to analyze with both Coons Meshing and Delauney, and the pictures attached are with delauney. With Coons I get constant result. Could you please make an effort of explaining me why? Is coons the suggested meshing method for walls and reduced results for panels?

Any rules of thumb for link between local panel direction and meshing method for this matter?
