Hi, I'm also interested in this topic. Right now I run my pushover analysis with another structural design software, but I want to use Robot to do that. I've also planned to write an Excel API to define and assign the non linear hinge for rc structures members. It will be a very great thing if it's possible to have any example and it will be also very very useful if this topic will be highlighted in the forum, so that together we can find the best workflow to run pushover in robot. Tomorrow I will share the appendix of Robobat Millennium for push-over analysis, that is the same of ARSA 2018.

Cheers

Hi everyone,

I found in my documentation this example of a push-over analysis. I've attached also the annex with theoretical assumptions and specifications.

I hope that this can help, please share your models in push-over analysis.

Cheers

Good Morning,

I've opened your model, why do you use rigid links also in the level with the non linear hinge? If you remove this rigid links you will see that the push will run, even if the capacity curve for displacement have a constant shape...for each point, and the story of plastizicization is empty.

It have to be investigated deeply. Could it be also very interesting to test the same model with rc structures...

Cheers

Yes, I have been trying to change the plasticity model but there is no change, the push over analysis runs, but no plastification occurs, members remain elastic.

Dear @aaping2 ,

Standing on my knowledge, to view a video on PushOver Analysis in Robot probably you have to contact Steven Spielberg or even better Christopher Nolan....

Jokes apart, Robot have a lot of lacks in Push Over Analysis that are:

MODELING

Definition of non linear hinghes for members, it require a third party solution;

Manual definition for all the Push Over Cases, that here in Italy it's 32 cases....

It's impossible to define non-linear hinge for panel elements (such happens in SAP 2000)

ANALYSIS

A lot of problems in convence of the analysis, that doesen't give the user the option to understand the point of the collapse;

POST PROCESS

The definition of the target displacement it have to be done separately with a third party software, basing on the design code spectrum...s oit's quite complex to manage the results...

Unfortunately Push Over in Robot is an option undeveloped in last 20 years, and we keep fighting to ask the dev team to push up in this direction, because of in this last years this kind of analysis is going to became one of the most important ones for the existing buildings all over the world, basing on FEMA for the US market and Eurocode for the EU market.
