Calculating M2 Emmedue Panels for structural floors and struct Roofs

Dear All,

For the more experience Structural Engineer, I would want to calculate M2 Emmedue Roofs and Floors using this panel. This M2 Emmedue system has been invented by Mr. Angelo Canderacci, and is considered one of the best construction building system in the world.

The emmedue panel, consists of a Polystyrene panel, with a 2.5mm mesh on both sides of the panel, and interconnected with 3mm connectors through the polystyrene, connecting to the mesh, and basically creating a rigid mesh.

For the walls, we shoot 3000 psi shotcrete on both sides of 3.5cm, in two layers(because you can't put 2 layers in one shot).

For Structural Floors we put the necesarry rebars on the bottom, brace them and we spray the underside with 2.5 to 3cm 3000psi shotcrete, and then we pour Concrete on the top. In between 5 to 8cm, depending on what the calculation gives.

Because the mesh, and the connecting rods, act like tiny I-beams, creating a sandwhich panel with polystyrene in the middle, basically cutting SELF WEIGHT by almost double, lets this panel span to 3.8 meters easily without any extra rebar mesh.

Question, how can I duplicate this mesh in Robot? Attached you will find all the information about the Panel. My next challenge is to calculate Low Slope Roofs and Structural Floors using ROBOT. There must be a way.

Kind Regards,

Greg

Hi @Anonymous

What actually is your objective? Is it the load distribution to supporting elements, creating a panel with the equivalent bending and in-plane stiffness, reinforcement calculations?

Artur,

If I calculate the panel as a slab without the interconnecting mesh, I won't get much span distance.

My Main question and objective is, How do I insert a 2.5mm mesh on top, and a 2.5mm mesh on the bottom, and connect 3mm connecting rod that connects to both mesh?

A structural engineer that I have hired 2 years ago, and that managed to get good results, did that with by adding Tiny I beams, in the same position as the connecting rods. So these I beams were acting the same as the connecting rods, which is a rigid structure.

Perhaps I thought perhaps you could create a custom mesh with those specific connectors and specific distances.

If there is no other way of doing this, then I guess I would need to do it that way.

let me know your thoughts.

Greg
