Robot Structual Analysis for Mac?

Hi all,

is there a possibility to install "Robot Structual Analysis" on a MacBook Pro? From all versions I can choose there is only Windows as a possible system shown. I have a student account on AutoDesk.

Robot is only for Windows.

You may try to run Robot on a Windows emulator on Mac and check if this makes the trick. Some time ago we were informed by one of the RSA users that it worked for him however Autodesk has never made such tests.

I'm using Robot 2019 update 1 under VirtualBox on MacOS Sierra 10.12.6. The VM is Windows 7 SP1 with all updates applied until yesterday. I have the 3D acceleration enabled, and it seems to run fine. But however, note that Robot needs resources: You need a Mac with preferably 16GB RAM (so that you can assign 8GB to the VM) and a relatively recent CPU, with preferably a good GPU as well.

As I said, it seems to run fine, but if I notice any issues, I'll report back.
