Hi There,

I'm new to Autodesk Robot apologies if this is a basic question. But I'm trying to model a steel brackets comprising of 2-angles welded together and bolted to a concrete foundation. The bracket is experiencing a lateral load of force F see attached Jpeg. How can I model this on Robot 2015.

I would like to produce verification calculation to ensure that the bracket can carry the loads. However I cannot figure out how to model the bracket.

I think you cannot escape from a FE(panels) analysis.

Can you show a 3d sketch or some more data as width , bolt diameters , distances , force?

Why not simply go with hand calcs?

Thanks, for that Mathias the hand calcs are not an issue, but looking to broaden my horizons. If software is available might as well use it right otherwise whats the point of the CPD process.

So as suggested before, better use a shell model and check the stresses then.
