topic Correct modeling of beams for reinforcement calculations in Robot Structural Analysis Forum

Hi, I just watched the tutorial about RCdesign - workflows for beams, columns and foundations and I have some questions.

In that tutorial @ Artur.Kosakowski said that depending on the way that you model the beam, you can calculate either requiered reinforcement or provided reinforcement.

So, if I want to calculate the reinforcement of a multi span beam it should be modeled as a continuous bar, but what if I already modeled beam as a chain of elements and I want provided reinforcement? Do I need to "remodel" the beam?

I hope you can help me

Regards,

Cesar

Hi @Anonymous

what if I already modeled beam as a chain of elements and I want provided reinforcement? Do I need to "remodel" the beam?

No, it is just enough to select all elements of the chain and export them from a model to the RC Beam Design module where they will form a single multi-span beam.

If you find your post answered press the Accept as Solution button please. This will help other users to find solutions much faster. Thank you.
