topic Section Shear Centre Influence in Robot Structural Analysis Forum

Hello community!,

I often use cold-formed databases (Lindab, Sadef) and I cannot understand how Robot deals with the shear center. I cannot find the shear center coordinates but what is more i don't think that I can adjust the load level in the (x) axis (except if Robot performs that automatically). I can see the shear center only via cold-formed section definition and I can only adjust the load level in the y axis(top to bottom flange). What I am asking is: does Robot take under account the distance from the shear center in the x axis and if so, can i see the "distance from the point where the load is applied to the shear center"?

Hi @Anonymous

Robot Structural Analysis does not take into account shear center position while static analysis.

Loads (except of situation where you use manually defined load eccentricity) are applied to bar neutral axis.
