Panels/Objects not combining properly

Hi,

I am trying to combine a series of panels representing 2 tunnels intersecting perpendicular with each other. One tunnel I have defined with a circular polyline and the extrusion tool, creating one panel. The other tunnel I have defined with 3 arcs and similarly used the extrusion tool, creating 3 panels. See "Base Model" png attached.

I have tried to intersect them by using the "Object Combinations" tool in the Edit Menu. For that I have used the "Double-operand Boolean operation", with a mixed operation type, using the first tunnel (1 panel) as Operand A and the 2nd tunnel (3 panels) as Operand B. The surface I set to external for both. See "Objects Combinations Options" png attached.

However, when doing this, I have noticed that a "triangle" of tunnel remains for the first tunnel within the boundaries of the second tunnel, which is obviously not correct. Accordingly when meshing Robot is trying to mesh this bit too. See "Objects Combined" png attached.

Also, when trying to mesh, I have noticed that the mesh is almost right but some FE elements are missed entirely along the intersection. I can add a further png in a reply to show this.

I cannot figure out how to correct these issues so any help would be much appreciated. I can attach the model if that helps.

I am trying to attach the model but not sure it seems to disappear when posting? Maybe the model is too heavy? How can I share it otherwise?

Try to save model as RTD without results

Then zip it

After that its size should be small enough to attach it to post

I have prepared video how mode can be meshed. Short description of modification steps

Setting solid modeler in Job Preferences
Copying your object to remove combination operations
Object union (to get one object)
Meshing
Unnecessary finite element deleting
Unnecessary nodes deleting
Modification of object sides local system of coordinated (all Z axis outside of structure)
Thickness definition
Support definition
Calculation

Thank you so much for your quick response. This definitely helps and it certainly is looking much better, however, I think I will need the 4 panels to remain separate because they will need to have different thicknesses. Is there a way of doing this? Is it maybe possible to break up the one panel into the original 4 panels once the mesh is created?

Actually thickness can be defined on model sides. There are 3 (active) sides for thickness definition

There is possibility of panel definition after finite elements selection

see video. Panel definition on FE selection
