You can set Disallow Join as default for Walls, but not Beams.

Thanks for reaching out to the forum.. It looks like Toan provided you with the steps to Disallow Join as default for Walls (not for beam), so for now I am going to mark this as "Solved." This won't prevent other folks from commenting on this question though in the event other ideas come up!
