There are no element overrides or filters and only weight and color overrides by category. I agree that it'd be better to not have to use the linework command, but showing the slab creates more issues (unless invisibility at 100, will hide the walls and piers, which only come up to the underside of slab.)

Normally when I use the Linework tool to change say a solid line to a dashed line, it works perfectly.

Every now and then it doesn't seem to work as it should (see below) the dash appears, but a solid line remains under... And so I need to find some annoying workaround such as mix of filled regions and 2D lines... what am I doing wrong? Again, this only happens sometimes.. most of the time it works great.

partial plan view of wall & pier

wouldnt recommend Linework tool in general (its not cad you working with every object has a 3d representation and you are better of changing how to show the categories or elements themself)

that being said mostlikely you have more then one thing you are seeing in the view for instance you have a wall and after you overwritten the wall line style you have a floor edge at the same place.

but as i saidont use linestyle change how you view walls in the graphic template or better yet control it via View Template.

Why? My problem is with the wall and piers. The image shown above is with me trying to change the interior lines to dashed lines. If I used the linework command to make those invisible, it would still show this annoying solid line.

my workaround currently is to show the slab perimeter (goes to the outside face of wall) as a solid line and element override the walls and piers to dashed lines.. I'm just trying to figure out why there is a remaining solid line while using the linework command here, but not elsewhere.. ( I am using a view template that does not have that issue on other projects.)

Yeah I can't tell what they are based on just a screenshot. The idea is changing one line to invisible and one line to dashed.

I've added the revit model and removed the element override from the left wall and pier. I am trying to switch the interior lines to EDCL 0.35 DASH.
