Hi @takundat1

You can model those using aligned distribution free form rebar, by selecting the side face as the host surface and editing the end constraints like in the following images.

You also need to add hooks to the ends, for which you can override the lengths. The right hook needs to have a custom angle based on the slope of the vertical face.

I've attached a simple model showing this example (Revit 2023).

Good day everyone,

I need help formulating the rebar marked in red and green in the picture. The closest I got to solving that problem was creating rebar which could not get into the footing. Please find the picture and the link to the file:

https://1drv.ms/u/s!AlmLGaDE55k7miwCZB4fBanBIoqU?e=gR2XLY

Regards,

Takunda.

Hi, Thanks mate. I'll try your suggestion. Perhaps you can help me with a few more things. Why is it that everytime I try to override hook lengths and tick the box, nothing happens and I still cannot override them? Secondly, I've installed naviate rebar extension and all the attempts I have made at automatic rebar placement have been unsuccessful and so I wanted to ask what the cause could be?

You need to have the hook lengths written as a formula inside the rebar shape family.

if you are using free form and turning workshop instructions to bend, a new shape is created and automatically assigns hook lengths to the last two parameters (if shape uses A, B, C, it will assign D = start hook length and E = end hook length).

Please note that all this happens if hooks are included in the rebar shape definition (reinforcement settings).

You can also manually edit the shape family and add the hook lengths as a formula to two of the parameters.

I am not familiar with naviate.
