I have a CAD link that has some solid hatching. It's masking column if I bring the view to the foreground. If it's to the background it's pointless having the overlay in as it's obscured by my model elements.

I would have thought my columns as they cut the view would be visible. There's no masking regions in CAD so not sure how to go about it. I need the hatch ideally as it outlines where an existing wall is.

Select the foreground CAD link and override element in view to give it some transparency.

Another way is link the CAD in a model in place or external family and add a extrusion to be cut by the view range (it must be visible but can be set to not display on plan and elevation).
