MISSING ITEMS IN IFC FILE

DEARS

when I import IFC files that are released from Tekla structures, I found that the bolts are not imported and also the model is not complete, and the items were not transferred properly.

also when I import from revit to tekla, all bolts are converted to holes only.

can I find any help

Have you verified with other IFC viewers (e.g. Navisworks, Solibri) if you can see those bolts, so that these bolts are exported from Tekla?

It might be that the Tekla user has to modify the export settings to be able to import it correctly in Revit

thanks a lot for your time and reply.

sir, when I export from tekla to revit I take care to export without assembly, and the bolts have been transferred. it is ok.

also, it is ok with Navis work.

but when exporting from revit 22 to tekla and using the command of convert ifc object. the bolts already exist. but the whole model still has one component as shown in the pic " bolts " attached.

in pic "bolts 2 attached I hide the default model as shown, after that the bolts have been removed.

can you help solve this issue?

Upload a file with the issue present. For example make an export from Tekla containing a small part of the construction with the bolts issue and upload it. So we can have a look

Not sure what the issue is. I have tried linking in the IFC and opening the IFC

Have you checked your IFC options, if there are no settings there that prevent importing the bolts?

If you keep having problems you might consider to convert the IFC to NWC and then linking the NWC file into Revit

I have attached a zip file containing the IFC and a Revit file with the opened IFC in there for you to check

I have to thank you so much for your replies and time. thanks, sir.

i have no problem when importing ifc model to all software. may my explanation not be enough.

the main problem is when I import the ifc model to tekla and convert it to tekla items also no problem, bolts exist.

but when I close the reference model as shown in the attachment ifc-option 3 the bolts disappeared.

I attached the ifc option of revit for your reference as you told me to check.

can you advise me, please

I am missing something....

If I understand correctly you have an issue with importing and converting an IFC (from Revit?) to Tekla and converting it to Tekla elements?

However the IFC you have send (outcoord.ifc) is coming from Tekla, not Revit. So you then have issues with importing an IFC made in Tekla, importing it back into Tekla? Or do you have another IFC made in Revit that you try to import in Tekla?

If I look at the default import IFC options in Revit I see this

So IFCMechanicalFastener are converted to Specialty Equipment

Which is indeed what i see hen opening the IFC file in Revit

What I also see is that the element in the IFC has a classification of IFCMechanicalFastenerType (assigned by Tekla)

In the case you have made a model in Revit and export it as IFC and then try to import it into Tekla then you might have a problem that Revit might not use the IFC class (i.e. IFCMechanicalFastenerType) that Tekla is expecting. You might try to force it by attaching the parameter IFCExportAs to your bolts and give it the value "IFCMechanicalFastenerType".

Further if it is a Tekla issue than you might have more success by contacting Tekla forums/support.
