so there is actually no "template solution" to this?

I was thinking of using only 2D symbolic lines in the family and hide the 3D, but for some reason my solid region always covers the symbolic lines and the lines also disappear when the beams are below another beam

Hi,

I have next situation:

2 steel frames which are cut by another beam:

This results in plan view:

How can I control the line behavior of the overlapping part to ignore the hidden lines and let the symbolic dashed line take over?

Checking off hidden lines in the VG is no option, because I will lose hidden lines were they are needed.

Only option I can think of is to use the Linework Override tool. TAB select the lines and set them to Invisible in the view. it's not ideal, but those are technical "hidden lines" so they will show in a Hidden Line view.

nothing I can think of unfortunately. maybe someone else will chime in with an alternative.

I'll pose the questions to my Structural engineer(s) and see if they have any other way they have handled it.
