topic Void Holes at Beam Ends Appear Cut in Project (Structural Framing Family) in Revit Structure Forum

Hello,

I am using Revit 2025 and working with a Structural Framing family (beam). I created holes using Void Extrusions inside the family.

Inside the Family Editor everything looks correct. However, when I load the family into the project, the holes at the start and end of the beam appear partially cut (as if they are intersecting with the beam end).

What I did:

Created holes using Void Extrusion

Created reference planes 147 mm from the beam ends

Aligned and locked hole centers to those reference planes

Middle holes are distributed using EQ constraints

Double hole group works correctly

In the 5-hole configuration, the first and last holes appear cut in the project

Tried changing z Justification to Center

Tried Disallow Join / Unjoin Geometry

The family looks correct in the Family Editor, but in the project the holes near the beam ends shift or appear trimmed.

My questions:

What typically causes void holes in Structural Framing families to appear cut at the ends?

Is this related to Location Line / Justification behavior?

What is the correct way to constrain end holes in Structural Framing families so they remain stable in the project?

I have attached images for reference.

Thank you in advance.

as per the family template of Structural beam / braces the extrusion should start and end at the second line not the first

try to adjust and see the results

as Ahmed correctly stated, switch to the other ref planes, second is your "array offset" a type parameter?

I did as you said and it fixed the problem in the file, but when I tried opening a new file, it didn't work. So I deleted the Member Left reference plane and replaced it with a new one, locking the beam to that new plane. That fixed it.
