revit 2024 toposolid, can you cut one with more than one void?

I'm using this for the first time. I made my original toposolid and changed it's phase to existing and created a graded region/copy. I made 3 different new toposolids (which represent the fill) and cut them with the graded region one, no problem. I now have 3 volumes of fill showing up on my toposolid schedule, great.

I have my sidewalk footings and piers in a linked model, so they won't cut the new/any of the toposolids.

For the footing, I created a model in place generic void extrusion and was able to cut it from the graded region toposolid as well as the other two new ones that I had created (which it intersected) and it adjusted the volumes accordingly in my schedule.

Then I tried to make another void extrusion, modeled in place, for the base of the abutment concrete, but it won't cut the new toposolid for fill around the abutment. Can't you cut a toposolid with more than one void? Am I missing something?

Thank you in advance for being patient with me.

Thank you, I've read that, a few times.

The three model in place toposolids I made were able to be cut by the site toposurface, giving me a volume of fill required for each of those three areas. Within the second and third toposolids, as well as the site toposurface, I was able to cut away the void I modeled in place for the footing of the abutment, but now that I'm trying to cut away the bottom portion of the abutment itself, the only toposurface I can select to potentially cut is the site one, i.e. I can't pick either of the two model in place toposolids I created to cut. The site one, that I can select, isn't actually in contact with the void. The abutment is part of a linked model. Maybe if I actually model the abutment in the main model it will work? I'll try that.

That's what i was trying to do but have been unsuccessful so far. My toposolids are a bit more complex.

I have an existing level toposolid with foundations already cut, and then I have phase 1 toposolid copy (also with foundations as they have aready been constructed) where i added grading for paths and some other areas. However, when i use the cut or excavate tools, nothing seems to happen. I tried putting both toposolids on the same phase but that didn't help, and also tried with dynamo (deometry/solid intersect/difference) but keep getting errors such as "inconsistent containment of intersection curve".

If I understand it right, the OP was able to cut the latter phase toposolid with the existing one, resulting in a toposolid which represents only the fills.
