Blended Void Problems

Hi All,

I am trying to create a complex blended void family for the purpose of importing into a model and using it to cut out an area of the geometry in a Power Station. I drew the frame in Autocad and imported it into the family. I need to do about 20 blended voids in all. When I try and select some of the lines to start the blend they are offsetting as seen in the attached snapshot. The offset is set to 0 . Any help appreciated.

It looks like it can be done directly in Revit as a conceptual mass or an adaptive family. Try with just 3 adaptive family profiles, host each on a point of a spline path, select them and create form.

Thanks Toan,

I am a bit rusty on the modelling, when I created a conceptual mass using the Metric Mass.rft I don't have the modelling tools. Was there another template? I must be missing something.

ok, I see now. I have to construct the geometry then create void form. I need to do some research on how to do that.

I got as far as the attached. Drawing the spline and selecting the geometry has stumped me, I have a workplane issue.

You have not added the shapes but instead included an imported CAD file, so you will have to manually create the profile at the not locations

I moved the CAD drawing up and SET the Reference Plane Vertically along the Spline in the CAD file

I then Create a model line and use TAB to select all the Lines in the CAD File

I then added Points on the Profile Shape Change Locations along the Model Line

I then Select the Nodes and Places a shape on the Work Plane

And then create the Form

There may be an easier way but hope this helps you move forward
