Check your journal, if towards the end it mentions "Dynamo" then you're in the same boat as me. I fixed it by removing the folder "DynamoPlayerForRevit" in the Addin folder of program data. I think something is corrupted in those files that's causing it. Let me know if this solves it for you.

Hello everyone,

I recently installed Revit 2025.4 on my Windows 10 machine, but I'm experiencing frequent crashes. When I launch the software, it loads briefly before displaying an "Error Report" message stating that Revit has closed unexpectedly.

System Information:

Operating System: Windows 10

Revit Version: 2025.4

Hardware: (Intel I5-12500H, Nvidia RTX 4050)

Issue Details:

The crash happens immediately after opening Revit.

No specific action is triggering the crash—it happens right at startup.

The error report dialog appears, but no detailed error message is provided.

I have tried restarting my computer and reinstalling Revit, but the issue persists.

Troubleshooting Steps Tried:

Reinstalled Revit 2025.4 – No change.

Updated Graphics Drivers – Still crashes.

Checked Windows Updates – System is up to date.

Disabled Add-ins – No improvement.

Ran Revit as Administrator – Still crashes.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Any suggestions on how to fix it?

Thanks in advance!

Have you checked the Revit Journal file and see if something is in there?
https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Location-of-journal-files.html

Have you checked if your computer conforms to system specifications?

https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/System-requirements-for-Revit-2025-products.html

Also see if something is in the windows log files (use "Event Viewer" app) in Windows

Hello,

I installed Revit 2025.4 and I was getting the next error: "program can't start because cer dialog.exe is missing from your computer", and after that, Revit was crushing. I believe the error you are getting is related to the CER service too. The Autodesk CER Service is a new feature in select Autodesk products starting from the 2025 releases. This service is designed to gather data on product errors to improve the reliability, quality, and stability of Autodesk products and services.

The only solution that worked for me was to disable Customer Error Reporting (CER) in Revit 2025. In order to do it, I had to modify the Revit.ini file:

Locate the Revit.ini file: This file is typically found in your Revit installation folder (e.g., C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\<Year>\Revit.ini).

Open with a text editor: Use Notepad or another text editor to open the Revit.ini file.

Add or modify the IgnoreDeletionOfRequiredSettings setting:

Add the following line if it doesn't exist: IgnoreDeletionOfRequiredSettings=1.

If the line exists, ensure its value is set to 1.

Save the file: Save the changes to Revit.ini.

Restart Revit: Restart Revit for the changes to take effect.

I tried everything before doing this: I re installed Revit 2025 many times, and I tried to update CER many times, nothing worked except disabling the CER service. Hopefully Autodesk solve this issue in the next release.

Hope this helps,
