(you could probably delete everything but the grids, if you wanted....)
I have 4 models which I have linked into 1 overall model. I have created dependent views to to place on sheets. The problem is some of the grids extend beyond the crop region. It would be nice if they tucked themselves back into the crop region. I have attached a screen shot.

Joe - I have 5 files each a little less than 1.5MB stripped of everything but the grids. I can only attach (1) 1.5MB file at a time - 5 posts. Is this okay or is there some other way I can get you the files?
Got it...
The extents of the grids that extend out of the crop region (in the linked file) are set to "2d" instead of "3d". When a grid is set to "2d", the extents are overridden in that view only. Revit assumes that if you set these extents for that particular view (by setting it "2d"), that is what you want to see.

To fix it, go back to the linked file, right click on the grid, and select "reset to 3d extents"
Joe, i have the same situatioin/problem with linked RS models. but when i went to make the fix you suggested, I see that at one end of the grid line (in plan) it says 3D, but at the other end (the offending end), it says 2D, but in gray instead of blue. If I click on the '2D' it deselects the gridline. It seems to be locked into 2D. In fact, i notice that all my gridlines on that model are that way. Do you know what is wrong?

There really needs to be easier ways of editing unwanted lines etc. For example, just by allowing filled regions in sheets would solve many of these issues but one has to do a workaround to get it using legends etc. Revit is great but it needs to be a lot more free if we want that everyone converts. There are way too many different limitations and workarounds for issues while a freer system would not need it. For example, in this case another flexible solutino would be to allow split line in view and then hide split line and wops you are able to modify the grid to work as you want.
