If you go to the View tab > Plan Views > Floor Plan tool, you can create floor plans from any of the levels you placed. Is this what you are looking for?

Is there a way to associate a new level with an existing floor plan? For example, if I make a duplicate roof framing plan, can I associate a new level with that existing framing plan? It would save a great deal of time for my firm if I had the capabililty of copying an existing floorplan and associating it with a new level instead of creating an entire new floorplan. This would eliminate the need to clean up the architectural underlays as I can copy an entire "clean" floorplan and then associate that to new levels.

@jrbroadway: Have you thought about View Templates?

Go into a floor plan that has the underlays cleaned up the way you want.

In the Project Browser, right click on that floorplan.

Choose: Create View Template From View...

Give the template a name.

You'll get a dialog box where you can choose what items of this new View Template you want to be applied to other floor plans/views when you apply this new View Template to it. If you want it included, keep the box checked. If you don't want it included, uncheck the box.

click OK.

Now that you have the View Template created, in the Project Browser, highlight the plans you want to apply the View Template to...

Right Click

Choose: Apply View Template...

The same dialog box will pop up and you can choose your newly created View Template.

Click Apply and this will apply the newly created View Template to the plans/views you selected.

If you want to see what View Templates you already have in your project, you can get to them on the View Tab> Graphics Panel> View Templates. There are default View Templates, but they're just a starting point for me.

First off, I really appreciate the help and I think that did the trick. I also apologize for hijacking this thread.

To make sure I am thinking correctly, please comment on these steps that I am taking:

Import cad underlay into a structural plan view. Clean up the underlay, then save as a view template.

Create additional levels with associated plans. Apply new view template to these plans, then "copy/paste aligned" the imported cad underlay into each new structural plan.

The last crazy thing that is happening is that the "copy/paste aligned" cad underlays are visible in the other structural plans. I have tinkered around with the view range and they still appear. To work around this, I have selected the extraneous cad underlays and "hide in view". Is this an indication that I am doing something wrong? If I make a view template with the underlay already in the plan view, shouldn't the underlay automatically show up in other views without "copy/paste aligned"?

Once again I appreciate the help. I started on Autocad 4, so it will take me some work to get my "system" situated with this new software.
