I am trying to edit the profile of a wall by 'simply' cutting a notch out of the top. I have tried using the edit wall profile tool and then draw the cut lines I want, but i keep getting the following message 'Lines cannot intersect each other. The highlighted lines currently intersect.' I would be grateful for any assistance. I am new to Revit so simple instructions would be appreciated.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

Can you attach a screenshot of what your profile sketch lines look like?

Hi Kate,

I have a low level stall riser wall below some shop windows just above floor level. I would like to notch the top of the wall to allow for a door opening. Hope screenshot clarifies.

Thanks,

Kevin

I see that you have not split the top lines. The sketch lines will need to be contionous they cannot intersect as the way you have drawn.

Split the top lines and trim them with the two vertical lines. you will not recive the error message then.

Thanks for the screenshot. I would agree with Raghavendra's assessment. If you split that top line and clean up the edges, you should be able to edit the profile successfully:
