Projection Line Help

I have a flat roof slab that has a variable thickness of 6" in the front to 4" in the back, and in the front elevation I would like the line that represents the 4" to show up as hidden without drawing it in. Any ideas?

Though it's not completely automatic, I would suggest switching your view to Wireframe, activating the Linework tool and selecting the hidden edge. When you switch back to Hidden Line, the hidden edge will still display.
