Yes, unfortuantely rebar hosted by parts cannot be copied since a part is not picked automatically as a new host.

You can not convert parts into walls.

A workouround is to rehost rebar from a part to the parent wall.

- select rebars hosted by parts in a wall

- use Pick New Host from the modify ribbon tab

- select the parent wall as a new host, pay attention that the original parent elements are displayed in the view, there is Parts Visibility settings in a view properties, set Show Both/Original,

- now the rebar can be copied.

I have a precast wall that is divieded into panels using the parts tool with gaps. When I create rebar and try to copy it to another part of the same wall or different wall i get the following error. http://screencast.com/t/WLgW9iji6ps Is there a workaround for coping the rebar?

It seems like this might be a prblem with walls that are devided into parts. Is there a way to convert the parts into seperate walls without loosing the geometery? I am too far into the project to start over.

Thanks for the reply.

that seems to work but it prevents the use of the cover settings at each of the joints so i loose all control of the length ot the bars. I am deeply regreating ever useing "PARTS"!

Is there any way to elemininate all fo the parts and keep the geometry of the joints?
