topic Structural connections in Revit Structure Forum

I'm currently running Revit 2017 and have loaded the structural connection's add on. The only way the I can make they connection work is to start with the structural analyst template provided with Revit 2017. If I start with any other template that comes with Revit, it doesn't load a revit 2017 structural framing certified family which won't allow structural connections. My ultimate goal is to be able to update an existing template (created in an older version of Revit) with our standards. Is there a setting that is not allowing the 2017 certified structural framing members families to not load?

Hi,

There is no setting that prevents loading the certified families.

To load the certified Families into your template or other project, use the "Load Family" command. ("Insert" Tab>"Load Family")

To understand which families you can load that will work with Steel connections, please see this web page:

http://help.autodesk.com/view/RVT/2017/ENU/?guid=GUID-6244E741-5D14-4DAD-AE25-5069F71B69F3

If you do not already have these families in your library, you will need to install the content using the Content Installer in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows Control Panel.

Regards,

Joe
