Hi all,

i trying to use formula in schedule properties parameter

what i want is creating a specific parameter that read a value from the two another parameters

for example: when i create the foundation schedule , i want to define a depth parameter for scheduling

but as you know Mat foundation depth is not the same parameter as isolating footing depth parameter

so i want to create one parameter and give it a name of foundation depth and read the two values

how can i do that?

thanks

not sure if i understood what exactly you want, but did you try "combine parameter" option?

All you need is a shared parameter for the pad footing (let's say pad footing thickness) and then you can list this in the schedule. Then you can change the Foundation Thickness (associated with strip) to Strip Foundation Thickness so that noone willl be confused.

ah ok. If you are using Revit 2017 you can simply combine them with the new "combine button". I dont think it's possibly in lower versions (I might be wrong).

If you want to do concatenation, combining two or more strings (or values as strings) in a single field you could do that with Dynamo. In there you can read values from parameters, combine the values together and push them back into another (new) parameter.

On the Revit forum (HERE), a discussion about this.

so it can not be done with 2014 without dynamo

i think it can be made be formula
but how can it will be made this what i want actually

I have rvt 2017 at first i simulate your situation, add to loadable family parameter "foundation thickness experimental" wich are not include in system family. Than i add field with if statement (i operate with parameter "width" but it could any anathor parameter), of course you must check every time if your formula work correct. See picture.

If helpd please mark as a solution.
