Hi,

A colleague of mine has been having an ongoing problem with his Revit model where in pretty much any view the model element edges appear to jump around, largely in the same way that linked/imported DWGs can sometimes do if they're not stripped down and contain blocks, polylines, solids etc. The strange thing is that this is a relatively newly created model (it's only a week or so old) and it's still quite small and in the early stages of building the model and there isn't much in the way of links added yet - 1 other Revit model (Architect's) and a couple of stripped down DWGs. Neither unloading or removing these links makes any difference, and I've just tried creating a new model and linking the problem model in and still get the same issue. Has anyone come across this behaviour before with model elements? I've attached an image which in theory should be a pretty clean normal column on the corner of an RC slab...

Obviously, this issue makes any accurate modelling quite difficult and I would reall yllike to get some advice as to whether or not we should start the model again or if there's something that can be done to fix this.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Simon.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, however, I've tried moving 0,0 to a point on the model and it's had no effect (see attachment 2).

This wouldn't normally cause any issues though - typically modelling is done at a very large distance from 0,0,0 in order to get correct co-ordinate output...

Simon.

Moving the Survey point does not move the model's coordinate system, it just changes the relative display of coordinates.

You will need to move your model (probably originally placed where it is by a linked DWG) closer to the actual model origin.

You can then use Shared Coordinates to reflect the "actual" location of the model.

There are many Shared Coordinates tutorials out there on the web. I suggest you take a look at some, it will make the reccomended process clearer.
