Dear Niels,

You are absolutely right. The family is given by you is identifying by the extension but the default family given by Autodesk for the UK region it is not identifying. I tried both the "pile Cap" and "Pile" family parameter to shared and change the material also. Still its not working. Could you please upload your Pile cap with 2 concrete pile and pile cap with 3 concrete pile for the Netherlands region further to test?

1) Still what would be the reason; cut off not working for my family ?

It is working for the Stndared Revit Pile.

Hii,

My Pile Cut off parameter (pile embedment length inside the Pile Cap ) is working as intended in the family environment but once I uploaded that to Project environment it not working as intend. Could anybody check and suggest any solution ?

Hello shefypattambi,

When you use these piles including a cap Revit automatically joins those together when you adjust any parameter.

Place the family in your project and go to Modify tab and click on Geometry Panel, Unjoin Geometry. Select the cap and as a result the piles and caps won’t join anymore.

This is a standard Revit behavior that we can’t change as a user, but this way it is something we can solve.

Tip, if you place one cap and copy that one around in the project you don’t have to unjoin every cap.

I would really like to hear from you if this will solve your problem or you have any more questions.

For all other Forum members, it would be nice if you mark the reply as a “Solution” when it answers your question.

Good Luck,
Niels Oomen

Dear Neils,

Thanks for the reply, The unjoin geometry tool is working as you said. But please check the attached family with this post. This is a standard Pile with Pile cap provided by Revit and the cut off is working as intended even in the project environment without using unjoin geometry tools.. But the problem is it could not identified by the Revit extension for the Pile and pile cap reinforcement purpose. So that I have created the same and it is identifying by the extension but Pile Cut off is not working in the project environment. I change the materiel for model behavior and still no luck.

Hello shefypattambi,

I have used both your family and the standard Autodesk family with the Pile and Pile Cap extention.

Both work fine with me with Revit 2017.1.

The standard Autodesk family is using a steel pile so if you want to use rebar then you need to switch that pile for a concrete pile.

Just wondering, are you using latest Updates?

What Revit version are you using?

Could you try to select your piles with tab and then try the extention?

Thanks,

Niels Oomen

Dear Mr.Niels,

The standard pile family is two types : - Pile Cap-2 Pile (Steel Pile) and Pile Cap-2 Round Pile ( Concrete Pile). I use the Pile Cap-2 Round Pile (Concrete Pile) with Revit 2017.1 and unfortunately for this standard pile; TAB key is not working to select the pile but it is working in the pile family that I created.

Please have a look at the attached pic
