Hello to everyone,

First of all sorry for my English (I’m Portuguese).

In Revit 2017 slanted structural columns don’t seem to clip correctly in plan views. In fact they don’t clip at all. The attached file is self-explanative. For example, in plan level 3 the columns are showed in its full length (all the way from level 1 to level 3).

The solution that I’ve came across is, between levels, split this elements. But even doing this, the columns don’t respect the view range settings.

One other thing that puzzles me is why, in a 3D view for example, walls and floors use the material shading colour setting and columns use the material surface pattern colour setting.

Best regards,

Rui Pires

Hi

first you have to check your view direction and view range.

You can find the view direction in proprieties then edit type

view range can be found in the proprieties panel

if they are correct according to your standard then go to clipping option in proprieties panel

and see the option for it

From what I understand it is used to show, in a special manner, “elements” placed above or below the current view settings.

Again, thank you for your time and patience.

Rui Pires

it's a revit bug, i would suggest to make the structural column parametric for sloping issue, make parametric angle and use vertical column,

i think this will solve the issue

best,
