Cannot select beam in 2d view but can select in 3D view

I am new to revit.

I cannot select beam in 2d view but can select in 3d view.

In 2d view, the beam colour is light gray and unselectable.

Make sure all of these boxes are checked

Thanks a lot,Here is another problem -- cannot selectable (tag system)system or framing in beam system.

Are you trying to tag or select elements in the beam system? Little confused here....

THANK YOU! I know this is an old post but your response finally ended my growing headache I was having over this. It was really driving me nuts. All I wanted was to change the angle of my beam system to 45 degrees to create roof rafters which was a 2 second task but could NOT do it because I could not select them. Now I can. so thanks!
