Hi there

I want to create a new rebar family which has already set sizes and lengths. I don't want to go through rebar tool bar every time and create a section view, adjusting dia sizes and lengths. I have created a rebar under generic model but I can not move it under structural rebar category.

Please let me know if anyone knows how.

Thanks.

I dont think Revit allow you to make it this way. Rebar family defines only shape. And the shape is being adjusted in order to fill the form when you place rebar in the model. You can of course use any family type and bunch of shared parameters in order to create schedules and tags, but I'm doubt that it will be easier than native Revit reinforcement instrumental.
