It depends on how developed your model is. If it is not too developed, use the Mirror Project tool directly. If it is, or you are running into errors using that tool, then link your model to a new file, mirror it, move to the correct location (may need to link the arch file as well for reference), and finally bind the link.

Its a risky job. especially if elements are locked to grid lines. Saving your existing model as something else (different name) and linking it to you model, mirror it a move to to where you want it the either explode or copy (from the linked model) and paste elements to the "same location" could be another option.

As stated in the previous comments it all depend of the complexity of you model and what you what to achieve.

You need to think of avoiding repetition in the future model developments. Every time you have to change one model you have follow the whole mirroring process all the time which could become a pain.

If all the models are the same then refer to one model as SIM 🙂

good luck.

if your model contains any rebar or elements in it with constraints copying and mirroring can cause a lot of issues with resizing of elements and the only way to now is to check them all.

In Revit 2020 can you try: Manage menu-> Position (drop-down) -> Mirror Project command ?

I had an old (complete) project done in Revit 2017 with hundreds of views and dozens of sheets. This command worked with 2 warnings and and 2 errors. Some dimensions lost reference points and i choosed to delete them to nulify the errors. Otherwise everything seems right (all floor plans, all sections, were mirrored). The sheet views are displayed right.

we work on numerous condo projects where buildings are "the same" but orientated differently. the key is to know when to mirror or rotate the project into a new file for the other "exact same" building. If you are like us, things are never the same, there will be different garage entrances, canopies, balcony layouts etc etc. You will still have to do work with annotation and checking sections and the likes. there is no easy button yet for projects like this but it is way better then it used to be.

@Jason.P: I used to do all that mirroring in Autocad. It is more precise, either mirroring as individual elements or entire drawing as a block. But you'd still have to adjust the "labels" = texts with leaders or with other associated graphical symbols. The text itself will still be readable but the symbols will always be on the wrong side of the text.

In Revit you won't have this kind of problem, as the labels are parametric, therefore the label text and the graphical symbols will always stay right no matter how many times you mirror it.

Heck, i always prefer to recreate a couple of dimensions in Revit instead of "fixing" hundreds of Autocad mirrored labels. Multiply that hundred by dozen of sheets/layouts and you'll get my point. Parametric stuff is always easier to manipulate.
