Does anyone know of a way to flip the direction of the elevation mark? I need to create elevations for some columns and I didn't want to use the regular elevation mark, it would clutter up the view. I tried to create a custom elevation mark that would fit nicely around the column. The only issue that I am having is that I can't flip the view direction. The image below shows the highlighted arrow point East but the view direction is West. How can I flip the view direction to point East with the arrow?

Arrow pointing East and View Direct West

<STRIKE>Silly question: but are you sure that view range belongs to the left marker? Could it actually belong to the right marker and just got moved to the left by accident? </STRIKE>

Nevermind. It was silly. I see the left arrow highlighted in the view.

thinking.

...I'm stumped. Care to share the family.

I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for. Can ask how did you set up the elevation arrow to face east and have the dash box to face west?

I took the original square elevation tag and then inverted the arrow to face in towards the column. This way I have only 1 elevation callout per column instead of 4 separate callouts. However, when I created the attached family I didn't think about the direction of the view box. Now I am at a point where I need to figure out how to make it face the same direction as the arrow.

What I can see in your family is when you created it from a standard elevation, rotating the arrow from the West triangle to face East does not mean the view direction changes with it. The west elevation triangle will always face where it was design to face.

It is still doing the same thing the original family I created is doing. All of the arrows facing the column still have view boxes looking the opposite direction cutting from the middle of the column.

If I can get this new elevation tag to work then it will clean up the sheets. We have a lot of columns with embeds on all sides and it is easier to have elevations looking at every side of the column. With the current method of using a standard elevation callout, I would need to place the callout 4 time for every column. The new tag will require one callout at every column. I have tried to create a new Elevation Pointer and new elevation body (R/File, New, Family) to see if that would help; I am still getting the same results.

Standard vs newRed box is the end resultStandard out of the box
