Structural Plan View

Hello,

I'm now starting to use the Revit Structures, and I'm having some trouble to set the structural plan view so my elements appears in the correct way. In the image bellow the plan view is set to look up, but I had to adjust the view range so I could see the beams, and when I have a member inside the slab it should appear with a projection line, but I couldn't make it.

The image bellow represents how I would like the beams to look like, I got this from this link https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-lt/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/RevitLT-DocumentPresent/files/GUID-FE192899-80C8-4737-B032-27B2B4AE8C42-htm.html, but I can't find any video that explains how set the view so it looks like this. PS: Even when I change the direction view it dosen't go this way.

Hope somebody help me, thanks!

don't completely follow you but you must correctly set the view range

in the pic i look down and see the floor with the foundation underneath.

If i look up i will see nothing.

Hi,

Just change view direction from DOWN to UP and change view range setting, see attached image.

everything is possible, just you have to play with the view range, use view specific UP & DOWN option and play with the view range, I have attached an image which is showing UP & down-looking views.

Hey, thanks for your time.

I'm trying to represent a floor plan, here (Portugal) we do this looking the slab from bellow and sometimes we need to do beams inside the slab, because of architectural restrictions, in this cases they need to be shown as in that picture you send to me (dashed). That's the role problem, you made any configuration for them appear as dashed line, or it is default?

Sorry for my English and thanks again!!

Hi

It's a normal view from a plan just I use two view plans for this task, one for looking to down (which is showing hidden lines) another is looking up (which is showing solid lines). I'm happy to help you further.

cheers,

Typically I find you have to cut through the beams in a cut up view to have them show at all. I would suggest a filter to override the graphics of these beams.
