topic Is it possible to have hidden elements show under a coloured floor slab? in Revit Structure Forum

Is this possible to achieve in Revit (referring to attached screenshot)?

Okay, so there are a few things here that I want to be able to do, but the most important thing is that it is done automatically - I know this can be done and we are achieving desired results but it requires a lot of overriding and drawing of regions, so I am trying to automate this inside the template.

Slabs have to be coloured, information under has to appear as dashed, or hidden, walls over to have a assigned colour (our conc walls in this case are red, we would want diagonals for block).

Anything I try in revit doesn't give the desired results. What I have tried is as follows:

What I have at the moment is object styles assigning line types and weights and its working well, anything that is drawn under the cut plane which is typically shown as hidden does so without any overriding but the problem occurs when I try to add colour on the slabs.

If I put a transparent region over the top I lose my hidden lines under and if I add colour to a solid fill material, hatches like the blockwork hatch appear white in the middle and if I make my slab transparent my hidden lines are no longer dashed as I guess its seeing through and the information is no longer hidden.

I could attach some more screenshots if that helps.

Why use Filled Regions when you can assign surface patterns and colors to the floor slabs? Below show a structural slab with a colored surface pattern and the wall below as hidden lines.

If i put a block-work wall over the top of that then my block-work walls are white in the middle. This was my original goal (solid fill material and have a bunch of different concrete materials for the different colours we use to denote slab thickness) but walls over the top do not display how I want them to, particularly the block-work hatch.

Also with a coloured concrete material I was not able to get fills to come through the under information, like dots to denote a wall under a slab.
