Beam joints

I’m trying to join 2 beams in Revit structures. I don’t know how to explain this exactly but I want them to have a diagonal edge. I tried to use beam/column join but I cannot select the beams.

Well my friend I assume you want to have mitter connection between those profiles. If I'm getting you right you would have to model these beams CONTINUOUSLY! So that the end point of first profile becomes the starting point for the next one. That'll solve your problem.

You dont need to select beams for this. just zoom around beams intersection, now press beam column join option, you will see two arrows at ends of beams. select them and you will have a diagonal intersection. See Pics. Also, make sure after pressing beam connection button all the beam types have ticked above property pellet.

It worked but as soon as I place a column under. The connection goes away. How do I fix that the connection still are there even though the column is under the beams?

Have you tried a MITTER comand under the STEEL tab? Worked for me. It creates a structural sub-connection. Select two beams you want to connect and the press MITTER button, connection will be created.

By the following post no 6 by @Anonymous , it works great. I also created the video according to use of mitter tool under the steel tab. it will ans your question.
