Right now we use Logikal software, but it has limitations. Such as creating parts list manually is a time-consuming process (has to be done in Excel). It also does not include 3D feature which is especially ineffective when we need to draw corner frames (e.g. shower enclosure). But what really slows us down is producing site details which has to be drawn in AutoCAD. So, it would be nice to built a library of typical site details. So if Revit could do it all, it would save us time.
I have attached 4 photos. Do let me know if you have trouble seeing them.

I am just wondering if parts list and glass sizes cab be retrieved from any of the Revit product?

We are the company specialising in steel windows and doors and looking for a software that can streamline our processes. Looks like curtain wall concept is the right one for us, but we are wondering if custom window sections, parts list and glass sizes can be created/retrieved. If not, would involving software engineer to create some sort of plug-ins/add-ons would work? Please advise.

The glass panel of curtain wall is controlled by parameter, but once you load into the project, it will be controlled by curtain wall horizontal and vertical grids, same as a door control by the width and height of the door jamb, so the glass panel sizes is varies. Thanks

Thank you for the reply. But, can we make custom sections (profile and thicknesses) we make our windows of? If so, then we can manipulate the distances between the grids to make equal glass, etc. As I said, the video we saw showing certain wall modelling is what would be good for us, especially the fact that Revit includes 3D features and allows to show surround details of the site (cavity wall, etc.). What we need is:
1. create custom sections
2. parts list (e.g. if it's double leaf door, then we would need to get the sizes of the outer frame and inner frame so our paint supplier could see what to expect when we send the frame for painting).
3. glass list (e.g. width, height and quantities).

That's what I'm saying, you can't get exact sizes because it depends on the sizes/quantities HxLxW of door and curtain wall. Thanks

Anything you model can be reported in a schedule. Before saying which is the right approach, can you show some pictures/drawings of your typical products?
