Hi!

When i export fabric reinforcement to IFC the bars in the fabric sheets are created with twice the diameter that it should have.

Example: Fabric sheet K503 contains bars of diameter 8 mm, but appears as bars with a diameter of 16 mm.

When making a section of the fabric sheet in Revit the bars are shown correctly.

Is this a known error, and is there a workaround for this issue?

Hello!

I have investigated this and I can confirm this is a bug in the way Revit is exporting fabric sheet geometry to IFC.

The diameter for fabric wires is correct in parameters of IFC, but not in the geometry.

This was not a known error to the dev team.

There is no workaround right now.

Please keep an eye on the release notes of 2020 future versions for a fix.

Hi Bogdan. I know it's been a long time since this thread started but was wondering if the mesh reinforcement export as IFC3 from Revit has been sorted out. I am using Revit 2022 and it doesn't seem to be doing it.

This issue has been fixed in Revit 2020.2

Here's a fabric sheet with W11 type wire side by side with 10M bar (both 9.5 mm in diameter), exported using Revit 2020.2 and linked as IFC

Maybe you have an incorrect diameter set for the fabric wire type.

Does this happen on a certain project? Can you share a sample project where this happens?

Cred ca e vorba de tipul de IFC folosit.

Adica armatura e A393 standard UK mesh cu bare de 10 la 200mm distanta in ambele directii.

Mi sa parut ciudat ca a exportat absolut toate conexiile (iar la proiectul acesta am cateva sute) dar nici o armatura fie bare simple individuale fie plasa/mesh.
