I second On JasonP's approach, quick process without having to do all the binding and grouping for this kind of task. So, have the ARch model open in the same session as the Structural then select all the elements from the ARCH model and do a Copy to same place command. Might want to open up another copy of that ARch model for it wont let you do anything if you try to open a linked-in model...it will give you a message that it will unload it. Hope I explained myself clear, this is my first EVER Revit comment.

Hi

I have an architecture model on revit.

i have to create the structural file.

i linked the architectural file on the new file and a i am copying the structure elements from the architecture file to the structure file.

In this picture you can see beams of the architectural model isolated to be copied to the structural file. When I copy these beams i have to pick them one by one using the tab key ,if i try to select them all using the mouse i will select the link , how to select them all ,select all beams , in the architectural model and copy them? any help?

Note that the beams have different sections and different families

Hi @joeiskandar1995

Are you using the "Copy/Monitor" functionality of just normal copy/paste? As far as I know beams cannot be copied using "Copy/Monitor".

If you are trying to just copy the beams and paste in your structure model, I suggest either bind the link then ungroup or copy the beams from the original Arc model and paste into your structural model.

I am not a big fan of copying framing from Arch models but if you have to, you could also try having their model open and your model and just do the old school copy past way.

You will still use the copy past train of thought. But make sure you copy the arch elements to the clip board. It will not work if you are using the copy command. Here is a quick link.

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/revit-products/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2018/ENU/Revit-Model/files/GUID-7C5364E2-8138-4C7B-816D-625B4358FC02-htm.html

Let me know how it goes
