topic show only one component of multi-layer wall in Revit Structure Forum

if I draw my wall as a multi-layer wall with external plaster 2.0 cm - bricks 36.5 cm - internal plaster 2.0 cm - is it possible to show only the bricks, so that the dimensioning also refers only to the bricks of 36.5 cm? I can't find a solution for this and would be very grateful if someone could help me.

You can change how dim dims initially work using the drop down on the Options Bar.

Make sure you put the plaster layers on the outer sides of the core boundary lines in the wall setup you could Set to Faces of Core.

You can also TAB the dims between centerlines and faces.

you can select the wall and pick Create Parts from he Modify ribbon. You can then Hide in View the layers of the wall you don't want to see.

Make sure you have the Parts Visibility in the view set to Show Parts. every other view should be set to show original.

Like Alan mentioned, setting up your wall assembly to start with is crucial. I always look at the core as the structure and then place other secondary items, such as sheathing and brick to the outside of my core element.

Thanks for your replys 🙂 but the outter walls are visible and for plans i don't need that.

i found this solution and it works. Watch the following link.

https://www.loom.com/share/742914f6dd174683bd1be11ba7c294c1

Really wish that wasn't in German!😄
This should be easier. Will Structural Plans only choose the core layer? I want to have the same wall so that I can cut windows and doors etc. but only have the Core or Structural layers show up in my framing plans
